Improvement of Recycled Aggregates Properties by Means of CO2 Uptake

چکیده

Concrete from deconstruction can have a second life in the form of recycled concrete aggregates (RCAs). They unfortunately poor properties (high porosity and water absorption coefficient (WAC)) with respect to natural aggregates. Accelerated carbonation was implemented improve RCA increase their use by storing carbon dioxide (CO2) cement matrix thereby reduce environmental impact. This paper aims perform parametric study process for accelerated RCAs store largest possible amount CO2 properties. highlights fact that each these parameters affects storage, an optimum content maximum uptake depending on nature source RCAs. is related linear relationship. The results show reduces as much 67%. Finally, also decreases porosity, observed mercury intrusion porosimetry, filling capillary pores.
